Today marks the 13th anniversary of the 9/11. It's a day that we will never forget. Despite the terror and evil that befell on America on that horrible day, we cling onto hope revealed in the connecting of hands and arms of strangers as multitudes of people ran from dust and debris. We hold onto the faith of many who bravely ran into the fray to rescue those whom they may or may not have known. Finally, we remember the resilience of humanity as we fought for years to rebuild. Where were you on 9/11? What will you always remember from that day?
I will always remember images like this:
This image, and so many others like it, resonate with me because out of this horrible tragedy we learned something important... we are American. We are united in our identity as a nation. In this one moment, race, belief, and personal opinions were washed out with an arguably more important reality - we are humans beings.
